This original series of MAC knives will always be a favourite of Ogg Sharpening. These MAC knives have been made in Japan for over 50 years. The thinnest and lightest range of knives anywhere, with chef’s blades available with only a spine thickness as thin as 1mm. MAC keep their steel range and chemistry and heat treat pretty much to themselves but is in most a Japanese made Aus 8 Cro/Mo/Va with no tungsten in this series steel. This does not matter as this results in a blade that can only be sharp to some degree as geometry alone in these knives make them king. A MAC knife and the Ogg Sharpening edge along with a upgrade in handling behaviour and there is a knife with a unsurpassed glide through the food. Uniquely punched with a hole in the blade for storage and hygiene. Also note the cleverly raised and robust handle for knuckle clearance from the cutting board.
Made from MAC’s original steel, and with a Rockwell C hardness of 60, it sharpens to an absolute treat. The hanging racks in our catalogue were designed and fabricated by Ogg Sharpening just so we could keep the knife and tradition hanging around a little longer. *Rack sold separately.
