Weighing in at 520 Grams this is the heavy weight from Maserin but you can’t help feel the comfort and security when the job is at hand and with that beautiful drop point tip so many tasks are covered.There is a sharpening groove in the blade to clearway the edge into the handle and is a great safety/sharpening feature.The knife performs with a side/pinch grip for those delicate spots when boning and skinning or just nicking the tip around when complete accuracy is a must.It balances well in this position and you forget its brute strength qualities and enjoy its agility instead. The blade is a flat grind {RARE} and its remainder is a mere shadow really with no depth of obstruction. Sharpening options for this knife and various uses come into play, and is something that Ogg Sharpening looks for and will only stock. The 440c stainless blade is of beautiful quality and forge and at 58 Rockwell C takes an absolute kicker of an edge even at the wider angles for those harsher environments. This is a full tang handle knife with hard wearing G10 grip that is screwed to the tang of 5mm stainless with anti slip thumb and palm markings ground into the spine. The bright orange handle will also stand out in those difficult surroundings. This knife also comes with a pretty classy leather pouch with a clip tucking inside the finger grip and a full length leather splitter inside. This knife is beautifully made, entirely in Italy and certainly a find for our collection of knives at Ogg Sharpening.
